We love Maroon / Burgundy / Marsala palettes!!

In Floral design, Joan of Arc, Planning

When Grethe approached me about the shoot, I was excited to get my creative juices flowing. During my creative design process I asked a couple questions, what season would this need to reflect, which colours would reflect Russia and lastly which flowers would be available to me.

We decided together that we would want a winter feel without the typical snow and fur seen in many Russian themes. This gave me the idea of using a dark base, seen in the brown velour table cloth and some of the decor items. The main colour for my flower choice was burgundy, deep red, when I think Russia I see their architecture in my mind’s eye and this deep warm red.

We also brought in many touches of gold to tie it all together in an elegant, strong, warm combination.
